Faith and Friends

The church is starting a new group called Faith and Friends.

Faith and Friends is aimed at young adults aged 18-39. Our goal is to meet monthly to talk about topics relevant to younger adults just starting on their faith journey. Some meetings will also be social nights out so this new group can bond while having fun.

Please tell all the young adults you know about Faith and Friends!

Picture Note

Caitlin would like you to know that when she takes pictures down off the website you can still find them in the Photo Album. The Talent Night pictures are in there, as are copies of all the pictures that have appeared in the newsletter.

Make sure to check the weekly event calendar on the home page!

Inspirational Message

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Monthly Coffee Cup Offering

On the first Sunday of each month, we take an offering in a coffee cup that goes to a worthy cause. In the past, it has gone to Haiti, but in 2014 we plan to focus that money locally. In 2014, the coffee cup offering will go to Fisher House. There is a Fisher House facility located on the grounds of David Grant USAF Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base.

Here is some information on Fisher House:

"The Travis Fisher House is one of 54 'homes away from home' built on military bases with medical centers by the late philanthropists Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher. They generously created a foundation to help military families in need where they can stay without charge when one of its members is hospitalized.

"Since the Travis Fisher House first opened in January 1994, it has served more than 3,200 guests. The average occupancy rate is 100 percent on a 'first-come, first-served' basis for those meeting its eligibility criteria. The primary criteria is a NEED to provide a family environment close to the patient.

 "Other criteria and priority considerations are:

· A patient that is admitted to David Grant USAF Medical Center for three days or more, AND;
· Patient's family lives further than 60 miles from David Grant USAF Medical Center, AND;
· Patient's family is not in a TDY paid status, AND;
· Patient's family does not have friends or family in the area where they can stay;
· Patient's family will be limited to a 30 day stay"
